May is an exciting month! We have lots of exciting opportunities for parents and community leaders to support our teachers and children! Below is more information about Teacher Appreciation Week, Study Sessions for EOC’s, Driver’s Permits/Licenses, and Exam Week.

Teacher Appreciation Week: May 7-11 – Volunteers & Donations needed SIGN UP

- FRIDAY 5/11- Dominoes Pizza Lunch and GIFT CARD DONATIONS NEEDED
FRESHMAN & SOPHOMORE PARENTS:
- Mr. Taylor wants FEEDBACK for freshman programs LINK.
- May 19th (9am-12pm) their is a Saturday EOC Study Session for English I and II, Math I and II, and Biology. Knightdale High’s performance on the NC Report Card is predominantly linked to these End of Course Exams. Our children’s success on these exams impacts the greater community’s perception of our high school. Last year 105 freshmen showed up for extra help! Due to last year’s success this effort will be expanded! Please support this effort by sending in doughnuts, drinks, crackers, and chips.
- Freshmen Exam Days – Although exams are half days. Freshmen are encouraged to stay for study sessions on May 29 and 30! These are a second study session beyond the May 19th session.
- Tuesday, May 29 Math I EOC & Biology EOC Prep (freshmen – full day)
- Wednesday, May 30 Biology EOC, Lunch, and World History Prep (freshmen- full day)
- Freshmen Help Hall – Mr. Taylor is offering work sessions for freshmen that need to improve a grade, study, make up work, or fix a project. Friday June 1 and June 5-8. Mr. Taylor will designate space in the freshman wing, and will identify the needed teachers to counsel your child in make up work. Mr. Taylor’s Email
- Driver’s Permits & License – New rules for identification! When you take your child to get their permit or license you have the opportunity to also make the identification an official FEDERAL REAL ID. If you bring a document with your child’s name and address (like school transcript) – the permit or license will be endorsed with a gold star which means it is a Federal ID or REAL ID. These ID’s can be used on domestic flights and used to get in Federal buildings.
