SPIRIT WEEK  (from senior class president, Matt Weddle)

Spirit week this year will start on Monday, September 28th, finishing up on Friday, October 2nd. Monday’s theme this year will be titled “Marvel Monday” and everyone should come to school dressed as their favorite super hero. Tuesday will be “image1Star Wars Tuesday” which will be a battle of the classes. Every class, freshman through seniors, will be given a different color to represent their grade. The colors will represent different colors of light sabers from the Star Wars movies. Seniors are blue, juniors are purple, sophomores are green and freshmen are red. Go crazy and wear as much of your class color as possible, be creative! On Wednesday the theme will be “Independence Day.” Wear your red, white and blue! Thursday’s theme is “Back to the Future Thursday” or even “Throwback/Throwforward Thursday.” This means anyone can come dressed from the movie “Back to the Future” or dress as the history/future. Friday is the big day of the week. Its theme is “Black & Gold” so show your school spirit. During the school day on Friday there will be a pep rally, where both students and teachers will participate in games that are sure to make everyone laugh.

VOLUNTEER NEEDED to TRACK DOWN CORPORATE MATCHING GRANTS:  Looking for a parent interested in helping us take advantage of matching corporate sponsors. At this time we know that Kohl’s, SAS, and Verizon have programs where if an employee volunteers at a school for a specific number of hours the corporation then supports the school with $500-750!  We are very interested in working with parents and pursing some of this grant money!  Please let us know if you are interested in this sort of after hours detective work.

FUNDRAISING:  Give to KHSCD while purchasing on-line STATE FAIR tickets by using the WCPSS Etix page. KHSCD code is 466! With your purchase, we receive $2 for each adult admission ticket you purchase, and $1 for each child ticket you purchase.

JV CONCESSIONS – Special thanks to Amy Smith, Tonya Moore, Sonya Columbus, and Karen Lawrence for taking on a rainy JV Concessions!  Another $125 to KHSCD PTSA!
