Dear Parents,

Another heartbreaking weekend in the news, and over and over my heart is healed working side by side with parents, our children, and faculty.  There is no better way to fight hate than by example, in the service of ALL of our children!

See you at “Meet the Teacher” (link) 6-8pm Tuesday, and do not forget that the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL is Thursday, August 8.  Please do not be absent. Our funding is tied to our headcount for the first 20 days.  Absent students in these day harm our funding.  New parking and carpool system (link).  There is also an after-school activity bus (link) that departs at 5pm.

SEEKING 100 PARENT VOLUNTEERS IN AUGUST:

• CAMPUS CLEAN UP – 8/5 4-7pm – Just show up!  Look for Shannon Hardy, ShaShawnda Lipscomb, and Dushun McCowan.  10-20 would be a great help!
• SUPPORT ATHLETIC BOOSTERS and serve for just one concessions shift this month. August Concessions SIGN UP – 42 volunteers needed
• FACULTY BBQ TAILGATE 8/30 5-7pm –  45 food donations and volunteers needed. SIGN UP

Also – have you seen Knightdale Class of 2019 Kiara Bush’s presentation on her AP Calculus Project – She found a correlation between teacher turnover and school grade! LINK  She is taking her results to the Wake County School Board and NC Legislature.  She is a rising freshman at NCSU! See article in N&O!
